Privacy Policy

What this Privacy and Cookie Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy covers Motor Industry Recruitments (MIR') treatment of personally identifiable information that MIR collects when you are on the MIR site, and when you use MIR's services.

The policy also gives information about cookies; use of cookies; and how you may disable such cookies.

This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that MIR does not own or control, or to people that MIR does not employ or manage.

This website has been designed to inform you about MIR.  By using this site you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

  • The terms were last updated on 7 July 2007

The information used on this site is purely for information. It is subject to change and should not be relied upon. We do not accept responsibility for the accuracy, completeness or suitability of any information found on this site.

Please speak to a member of staff if you have any queries.

Vacancies

We assume no responsibility in respect of the existence or availability of any of the vacancies advertised on this website. We do not offer any guarantees that a client will request your details, or that you will be invited to attend an interview, offered the position or that we can provide candidates or that a candidate will attend an interview or will accept and start with the employer. We do not accept any responsibility of the final terms and duration of appointments made.

Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions are available on our site under the link Terms and Conditions.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

MIR will not sell or rent your personally identifiable information to anyone.

MIR may send personally identifiable information about you to other companies or people when:

  • We have your consent to share the information;
  • We need to share your information to provide the product or service you have requested;
  • We will respond to subpoenas, court orders, any legitimate request by authorities, with which we must comply, or a legitimate legal process.
  • MIR may transfer information about you if MIR acquires, or is acquired by or merged with, another company. In this event, MIR will notify you before information about you is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Cookies Information

MIR collects personally identifying information when you register for a MIR account, when you use certain MIR products or services.

When you register with MIR, we ask for your name, email address and a password to access the registered candidate’s area. Once you register with MIR and sign in to our services, you are not anonymous to us.

MIR also automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser including your IP address, MIR cookie information and the page you requested.

MIR uses information for three general purposes: to customise the advertising and content you see, based on the details given by you at registration and your activity at MIR, to fulfil your requests for certain products and services, and to contact you about positions, news letters and for customer feedback.

MIR may set and access MIR cookies on your computer.

A cookie is a small amount of data, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier, that is sent to your browser from a web site's computers and stored on your computer's hard drive.

Each web site can send its own cookie to your browser if your browser's preferences allow it, but (to protect your privacy) your browser only permits a web site to access the cookies it has already sent to you, not the cookies sent to you by other sites.

Choices about Cookies

You can configure your browser to accept all cookies, reject all cookies, or notify you when a cookie is set. (Each browser is different, so check the "Help" menu of your browser to learn how to change your cookie preferences.)

If you reject all cookies, you will not be able to use MIR products or services that require you to "sign in," and you may not be able to take full advantage of all the features we can offer you. However, many MIR products and services do not require that you accept cookies.

MIR's Practices Regarding Cookies

MIR uses its own cookies for a number of purposes, including to:

  • Estimate and report our total visitors and traffic.
  • Conduct research to improve MIR's content and services.
  • Require you to re-enter your MIR password after a certain period of time has elapsed to protect you against others accidentally accessing your account contents.

Disabling/Enabling Cookies

You have the option to accept or decline cookies by modifying the settings in your browser. However, if you choose to block all cookies you may not be able to use all the interactive features of our site if cookies are disabled.

Your Ability to Edit and Delete Your Account Information and Preferences

MIR gives you the option to unsubscribe from any further information being delivered to you.

Confidentiality and Security

We limit access to personal information about you to employees who we believe reasonably need to come into contact with that information to provide products or services to you or in order to do their jobs.

MIR adheres of the Data Protection Act.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

MIR may amend this policy from time to time. If we make any substantial changes in the way we use your personal information we will notify you by posting a prominent announcement on our pages.

We comply to the following standards regarding your data:

Data Protection

  • “If you collect or handle personal data using email or the internet then you must comply with the Data Protection Act 1998. Unless you are exempt, you will need to register as a data controller with the Information Commissioner. You are required to state what you will do with the data (and stick to it), and you must ensure that the data is secure, up-to-date and not excessive. You must also reveal it and delete it if requested by the individual.”

Note:

We reserve the right to decline to represent any candidate or client without offering our reasons for doing so. However if we do decide not to represent either party this decision will not be based on race, age, religion or any other reason other than our own views of either the client or candidate. We are an equal opportunities agency and wish to be able to assist any client or candidate with their needs. we are not the employer and so are not at liberty to decide who is or is not selected for interview or if a candidate chooses not to have their detail sent to a particular client we are not in a position to insist they allow us to.

This is to protect both the candidates and the clients confidentiality and their wishes.
